Folk Art - MOLDOVA

This collection of Bessarabian Tapestries exhibits the distinctive character of the folk-arts of Romania and Moldova in the early to mid 20th century. The period saw a dramatic muscular take on the classic French Aubusson styles, their main influence.

Flat-woven, double-sided with a strong hardy weave. Each is in perfect condition.

Pure Sheep wool.

Made for public special occasion. Like opening a new cement factory.

Bringing the garden inside while outside the below zero temp and howling deracinating wind.
