The Bakhtiari people are more than a tribe, a nation numbering currently 9 million. Politically important today, and with a proud military history as Persian king makers, the Bakhtiari are a respected entity.
Their weaving shows confidence and dynamism: both simple geometric patterns of the nomads and curvilinear floral of the settled royalty handled with aplomb.
