The Bakhtiari people are more than a tribe, a nation numbering currently 9 million. Politically important today, and with a proud military history as Persian king makers, the Bakhtiari are a respected entity.
Their weaving shows confidence and dynamism: both simple geometric patterns of the nomads and curvilinear floral of the settled royalty handled with aplomb.
The valley and town of Pharadonbeh is an ancient royal place and it's carpets are considered among the best.
