Taimani 237x152cms

Once plentiful, these old Ghuri Taimani rugs from Central Afghanistan have ceased to exist. Prior to Chingiz Khan they had their own dynasty and still hold their own thru successive invasions, the latest being Russia, Taliban, USA. The farm sector has been lucrative these last decades and the wool for rug-making has been taken over by the demand for mutton and the high price of raw wool.

This so natural neolithic-looking Ghuri Taimani has a field of undyed handspun grey wool.
