Shah Safi design made famous by the Safavid era Ardebil carpet.

Saroogh, Saruq, Sarouk rugs were among the most well-known of Persian Carpets prior to the late decades of the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi, when the Isfahan, Naein, and Qum were commercially produced in great quantities and aggressively marketed on a knots per square inch basis in Western markets. The Sarouk of this era is a tour de force of weaving being both fine, hard wearing and washable. Unlike later commercial qualities the Sarouk of this period use just the wool of the local fat tailed sheeps wool.
