This Antique Yamout Rug carries the bold geometric motifs and earthy palette typical of Turkoman tribal weaving. Rows of stylised tribal forms repeat across a warm terracotta ground, framed by traditional borders that give the piece rhythm and balance. Hand-knotted in wool, the pile has mellowed over time, softening the colours and bringing out the depth of the natural dyes. Like many old tribal rugs, it has a relaxed, lived-in character that makes it feel authentic and grounded in a room.
