Persian Tribal Rug
A celebration of “THE HORSE”

The Year of the Fire Horse

The culture this rug celebrates is often referred to as The Nomadic Horsemen of Central Asia.

It may be the Mongols, or the American Plains Indians that are your doorway to this culture. It may be the games, polo and tent-pegging taught to the British.

Here we have a nation, the Qashgai, in the SW of modern-day Iran, Persia. Once part of the great Oghuz migrations out of Central Asia following the Mongol conquest, today their wealth remains in animal husbandry.

Sheep may be transported by truck between the summer and winter grazing lands but the people remain horse-centric. Foals are lovingly fed raw egg and assigned a human for the length of its life.

We recommend this Persian Tribal Horse Celebration Rug to you, in the Year of the Fire Horse.
