Although the cartouche date translates to 1919 in feel and colour this is a Mid 19th Century Fachralo Kazak.
The mountains of Georgia, in the time of WWI and Bolsheviks would have been immune from the itinerant traders of cheap synthetic dyes. Hence it’s late date but early colours.
The pile is thick and lustrous, the colours outstanding, a testament to these mountain folks memory.
