Firuzabad is the winter quarters of the Qashgai. It has ancient ruins and the name translates as Turquoise Town, which has nothing to do with the gemstone. It refers to the colour of the nearby lake, which is mentioned in ancient texts.
Everything about this place is tradition and here we have a rug the field of which is all 8-pointed stars, one of the earliest talismans.
The Qashgai weave their best rugs at home in their winter retreat. Map Reference
