A study in contrast and calm. The Kelims Labijar carries the timeless checkerboard motif rendered entirely in plant-dyed wool — no two squares quite the same, each one carrying the soft variance that only natural dye can give.
Woven in Dovetailed Tapestry technique by artisan families in Pakistan, using naturally dyed Afghan wool spun by hand. Every kilim is set on an original horizontal loom, the same method passed through generations, and worked slowly. Patience is part of the process, not an inconvenience to it.
Once off the loom, each piece is washed by hand, softening the wool and settling the dye into its final, muted depth. The result is a rug that feels lived-in from day one. Sturdy underfoot, rich in texture, and quietly artistic on the wall or the floor.
