CHALLU is a continuation of one of the oldest textile traditions in the world. The wool is hand-spun from high-altitude sheep in Ghazni Province, then hand-washed, hand-clipped, and hand-knotted onto traditional looms by weaving families in Pakistan, using techniques passed down through generations.
This piece carries a natural dye, sourced from local plants using traditional methods rather than synthetic colour. It’s colourfast and durable in light. Nothing manufactured, nothing added after the fact.
Made to be used, walked on, washed, and passed down.

We photograph our rugs in real rooms and natural light, so you see them as they are. Screens vary, so if you’d like a video or more photos before you decide, just ask.
Preferably sweep with a stiff straw broom. Vacuum only lightly, in the direction of the pile, not against the grain.
Don’t be too precious. Our rugs are pure top-grade wool and virtually indestructible; there are many antique rugs still going strong today. Just stay natural, with no modern chemical cleaners or machines, and return your rug to us for a complete wash every few years.
PS Some rugs enjoy a picnic!
